“The Rachel Maddow Show is essential viewing for anyone with an interest in current US politics in particular. Her lengthy opening segment is often fascinating and she has a way of bringing seemingly disparate threads together to a totally unexpected, and in many cases compelling, conclusion. However, the opening segment is usually the introduction to a broader discussion of the subject, and as such, the format of the VIDEO podcasts - which only give that opening segment - is not just unsatisfactory, it is a complete waste of time. iTunes is providing a disservice with this podcast, and needs to open it up to the whole show. Very disappointing, iTunes.
That said, the full-programme AUDIO podcast format is welcome, but again unsatisfactory given the essentially visual nature of any programme created for a TV audience.
My revised rating is intended purely and simply as a thumbs-up for Rachel Maddow. I for one would have loved to see what she might have made of the Brexit debacle if it had been placed under her laser-eyed gaze...”
