Great podcast that keeps me engaged. Some waffling and filler here and there but I’ll keep listening
A great podcast for those with an interest in UK economic news, discussion, issues, etc. I've yet to come across any competitor in this space which matches the quality The Rest is Money delivers. Steph and Robert serve as great hosts. Though both are certainly experts with both haivng sucessful careers in UK economic broadcasting, they differ in many ways. With different background, styles, and sometimes positions on key issues, the show is kept interesting with the balance and insights these can differences bring forth. The show does have fair share of "filler". An episode of 40 minutes, 2 or 3 days week gives a lot of time to talk and sometimes there's clearly not much to talk about. While this does allow for deeper dives into nicher issues (which what makes a good podcast great), there are plenty of moments when there's just not that much to say. Both hosts have a habit diving into telling stories of little relevance or just waffling through a topic. While sometimes entertaining it can devolve the show into background noise. I'm looking forward to see how this relatively new show evolves. I think it's yet to find perfection, but it's found a good formula which has kept me interested and engaged thus far. PS: Can’t help but notice at least one reviewer irritated by Steph, calling her “socialist”, and want her gone. First, she’s clearly not a socialist. Get a grip. Im certain this view is just another example of the weird British hatred towards women with working class and/or Northern accents expressing expertise or educated opinions. I don’t always agree with her but she’s clearly educated enough to educate the general public.Read full review »

This podcast has come at the right time for me - feeling I should listen to more educational podcasts to balance out the froth. This podcast has given great business and economic insights while still being engaging. Great hosting combo.

Content fine but delivery poor . Very fast speaking particularly by female presenter and often garbled . Hate to say that the strong accent didn’t help in my view - neither did the rather hysterical high pitched laughter .

Listened to the first episode and thought it was enlightening. Probably tried too hard to be entertaining and skipped around a little. Ill be listening again. Thank you
