“Children who have been homeschooled need to listen to the Roys report - I believe no-one who is inside a ‘cult’ knows they are in it until they leave.
Though talking to people who may think differently could change your views, a cult-ish system is characterised by fear of people who think differently (or a determination to brow-beat them into seeing things from your own perspective)! It’s so hard to break out: being sent into the ‘margins’ hurts so badly, but Jesus can be met with in the margins.
