Enough is enough…… boring, dull and predictable. Please Times, it’s time to refresh the format and ditch the old and redundant “expert”.

Just listen to half of today’s podcast and had to turn it of because of Steven Jones!!He slated everything about the springboks on this tour it’s a bit much.I’m a neutral supporter and I see both sides of the story with this tour. Stevens views are not what you call constructive,it’s just nasty....Read full review »

A show for true rugby fans!

This podcast is more a self congratulatory fest with journalists who think journalism is the most important thing on earth. It’s a podcast for people who enjoys dinosaurs talking about newspapers.
bjornxv via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 07/31/21
There are very few quality serious rugby podcasts out there. Most seem to prefer taking the route of using ex-players and trying to be funny, cool or matey. They try and entertain rather than inform and without exception, they fail dismally. The Ruck was one of the last serious rugby comment...Read full review »

Get rid of Stephen Jones and this becomes a decent podcast. Keep him in and it will continue to be an unbearable mess.
Stephen Jones is the problem via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 07/30/21
The midweek episode of 29th is absolutely appalling. Three great journalists trying to score points off each other regarding dress sense, drinking, IT skills, travel guides, hotel room, it just did not stop. 51 minutes of podcasts and they discussed 5 minutes of Lions rugby. That’s it from me,...Read full review »

I have tried so hard to continue to listen. I just don’t find it engaging at all any more. It sounds like Statler and Waldorf form the muppet show have been given a podcast! On a serious note, I think the childish delight exhibited at their circumnavigation of the alcohol sale ban in SA is in...Read full review »

Just cover the f ing tour. You’re supposed to be JOURNALISTS. We don’t want to hear about your “contraband” stories and your grandad, veiled efforts to be with (rather ironically) “the times”. You’re lucky to be there watching

Awful structure to the squad selection. Not even sure you talked about centre partnerships and they are one of the most discussed selections in current media!
Santico via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 07/21/21
Superb podcast. Terrific opinions through a great mix of journos. Dallaglio the ex-pro who has been there and done it and Stephen Jones who grips you with everything he says. Whether you agree with him or not, at least he says it as it is so you know as a listener what his actual thoughts are -...Read full review »

Alex Lowe and Owen Slot are good journalists struggling manfully to get out from under the raging ego of Stephen Jones, a faux controversialist who brooks no argument about anything because in his mind he knows the lot. Dallaglio is aural walllaper, the others who drift in and out now and then...Read full review »

Absolute drivel, just like their writing. Stephen Jones in particular with his bias and xenophobic nonsense needs to do everyone a favour and keep his click bait contrarian opinions to himself. It’s embarrassing really, verbal diarrhoea. Lawrence the only guy who is relevant and knows what he’s...Read full review »

... and I would leave 0 if I was allowed to. I used to read the Sunday Times purely for their rugby coverage, I then subscribed to the iPad edition for the same reason. And I would eagerly await each episode of this podcast to hear the pundits thoughts and comments. I have found Stephen Jones’s...Read full review »

Just listened to the episode post Lions squad announcement. I have rated one star because there isn’t a “no stars” option. Jones is ridiculous. Slot is so one eyed in his attitude to English players it’s laughable. The least said about Lowe the better. When Barnes is the voice of reason you...Read full review »

Really enjoy Lawrence in the Chair. He is excellent: measured and intelligent. Mark Evans is also brilliant (could he be on with Lawrence weekly). The journalists, though, are very poor. I would let them get on with their day job and just use guests. Please fix the sound.

I love the podcast but the sound quality again this week (29 March) was absolutely awful
Crauste via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 04/01/21
Love the knowledge and passion of those on the podcast, but this is aimed at an English audience. Wales barely got a mention for their 6Ns win and Scotland were mentioned in passing, despite a historic win. No analysis of France and where it went wrong, except to compare them to, guess who, the...Read full review »

When Sam Warburton is on the podcast, it is awesome, as he brings up to date insights on the game and players. When he isn’t, there is too much pontificating and lazy stereotyping from Stephen Jones. Time to refresh the team.

Great pod today the mix of former captains in the media and journalist handled the controversial decisions really well and the game in general. Trying to think of an England captain at forward. Launchbury when fit maybe

This is starting to feel stale. Same personalities whose opinions are just sooooo predictable. Same stories just being regurgitated. It needs an injection of fresh ideas and new faces. Give us more coverage of premiership matches, France and Pro 14. News from down under please.

I listen to two Rugby podcasts, including this one, because they’re not afraid to tell it as it is. Mr Jones once again in touch with the facts about Pat Lam, who of course did play for the All Blacks (as he was born and raised in NZ) after he played for Manu Samoa in the 1991 World Cup (in the embarrassing hammering by Sydney in 1992) but this was before professionalism.

I just can’t keep listening to the endless negativity about the teams, coaches and rules of the game. Not helpful to anyone and deeply unpleasant to listen to.
