Phenomenal level headed advice
I’m a D2 Rugby player and this dude knows his stuff. As a prop I constantly flip between lifting heavy weights or should I do cardio? I forget which episode it was but he said ‘ If you have a lot of power but don’t have good cardio, you won’t be able to show your power due to being tired’ Good listen
Diverse approach on how to succeed in rugby
As a forward, I have an almost religious devotion to Mike Cron. The legendary scrum master espouses constant improvement in learning. That’s what you get with this wonderful podcast. TJ brings a diverse group of people to the pod to discuss everything from ultra marathons to boxing and the impacts they can have on rugby.
Also, the episodes are about as long as my gym session, so I’ll throw it on when I’m warming up. By the time TJ is wrapping up with his guest, I’m wrapping up and hitting the protein shake and the post workout mix.
As a fan of first principals, breaking things down to its base parts and figuring out how they work, this introduces new concepts that some of us players may never think of. So if you’re itching to grow any aspect of your game, give this a listen
Real and Refreshing
