I can’t believe I haven’t discovered this podcast until now, and I’m so glad I found it. Such thoughtful and meaningful conversations. Such generosity from the host and guests. Thanks to all involved.

Great podcast with a host that is brave enough to engage in a broad range of conversations with a variety of people from all walks of life and backgrounds. Informative, thoughtful and compelling! Well I like it anyway! Make up your own minds by listening and reflecting on everything you hear.

I only discovered The Sacred relatively recently but I wish I’d come across it before - have been catching up on old episodes. I’m someone who believes strongly in dialogue and understanding with those who differ - that’s very much this podcast’s ethos. As a Christian who’s still working out how...Read full review »

To me, conversation and communication are sacred, so it does my soul good to hear vulnerable humans-- humans who often come from different worlds-- hold that value up in an effort to grow. Just through listening, I have too.

Liked very much every episode I listened so far. Most of all I really relate to the way you think about forgiveness. Forgivenesses something that we should pursue and practice outside of any religious systems. If we cancel and shame those who makes mistakes - most of the times, for the right...Read full review »

I’ve been feeling very lonely in my world and only seem to find men to discuss these things with. Her perspective is everything I am constantly saying - SO RELIEVED TO HAVE FOUND YOU!

The conversations here are worth listening to and the way the interviews are handled is impressive. I am always left with something to think about as a result of listening. I don’t think the range of voices is as wide as suggested with most guests leaning to the right, even as they claim they...Read full review »

This has been a phenomenal season - loved all the episodes in different ways and have been hugely helpful in navigating cultural and theological ideas which bubble away in my life. Will miss it! Come back soon!

Grateful for this wee podcast with a big heart. Elizabeth is so interested in the people she interviews, and accomplished in setting aside her own agenda. We always find out something new about our shared and varied human experiences. I only wish the interviews were longer.

A friend recommended this to me so we could discuss them; I’ve now listened to about a dozen and I’m finding they resonate and spark responses in me in many enlightening ways… I especially love how they explore vital questions, which can often seem narrowly focused, in deeply inclusive ways that...Read full review »

I came across “the sacred“ podcast very recently but have already consumed many of the episodes. Elizabeth’s engagement with her guests is warm and curious, intelligent and eye-opening. This is the kind of podcast that inspires and challenges me, while also leaving me feeling more hopeful and...Read full review »

I tried listening to one episode of this series. The interviewer talked for long that I gave up all hope of hearing anything useful. No more for me.

There are many reasons I didn’t want to listen to this podcast, the title which evokes religious connotations, hearing from those with a strong faith (where I don’t have one), my presumption of Elizabeth’s class due to the “posh” accent, words I don’t understand (and have to Google). However I...Read full review »

Sacred podcast is my favorite new discovery for 2023 and it will take a bit to budge it from that spot. Every episode is so thought provoking, in fact provoking at times at every level. Listening to people not like me raises all sorts of interesting and confronting feelings. I find Elizabeth’s...Read full review »

I really appreciate this podcast, which has a wonderful range of guests and whose conversations range across some original, moving terrain. If I had a suggestion, it would be to tighten up the start of each conversation, especially the first question to each guest. If you’re a regular listener,...Read full review »

This is the podcast I most rave about. It makes me aspire to eb more thoughtful, to listen better and to present an open face to the world.

It still baffles me that I can listen into these deep conversations with such a wide range of people and yet there is always something to reflect on and take away. It feels extra encouraging when that happens with someone that I wouldn’t normally identify as part of my “tribe” but that shouldn’t...Read full review »

I love The Sacred so much. The graphic for the show is gorgeous, the intro music fills me with peace and the opening question “what is sacred for you” opens my heart and spurs my curiosity. 💛💛💛

For me, the Sacred podcast represents a sanctuary, an antidote to the polarising hype so prevalent out there. Listening to the podcast is a bit like arriving at a piazza, where diverse people are rubbing shoulders with each other, and talking freely about what matters most to them (except that on...Read full review »

So glad to discover “The Sacred.” I don’t think I realized how much I needed what these conversations offer. In podcast Babylon, these voices cut through. I’m deeply grateful. I love being introduced to the voices of so many people whose work maybe new to me. Along with this, the podcast shows new aspects of more familiar people and brings them into full colour where previously I may have seen them only in the monochrome hues of their public personas. The intro and outro to the latest episode (with Francesca Stavrakopoulou) perfectly sum up what this podcast is all about but here’s how I came to discover and enjoy the podcast. Love the deep conversations and lack of small talk. A great lesson in asking open questions. Feels like you get to know the person interviewed well in a short space of time and I always come away thinking about something or other in a new way.

I find the Sacred a fascinating listen. The questioning / interviewing style is really well balanced and seems to bring out who people are and what they believe without being aggressive. It nearly always makes me think differently about people and issues. I highly recommend it

I enjoyed the interview with Tim Stanley. He articulated a conservative viewpoint which was more culturally conservative rather than explicitly neo-liberal. At first I was going to give the title “Fuel for fresh thinking”, but what really distinguishes The Sacred is its generosity of spirit, its gentle challenge to me not only to think afresh but to open my heart. That’s not to suggest it lacks depth or rigour - it has plenty of both. But it goes far...Read full review »

In an era of division an opposition, The Sacred offers a remedy. Sensible, thoughtful, and honest conversation about what is important to us all and how that shapes our society.

While an MPhil student at Cambridge, a friend recommended this podcast to me.
