Listening to this podcast, I was struck by Mr Loya’s self-awareness and lack of fear of his own vulnerability. While I don’t doubt his experiences for a second, I do not see a hardened criminal here, but a smart, remorseful, changed human. This podcast and its content are a testament to our...Read full review »

I’m a true crime podcast junkie. This is the best story I’ve heard thus far and I’d be surprised if you can mention an even decent one I haven’t heard…

Joe Loya is an amazing storyteller with one helluva story to tell. Not only a thrilling true crime tale, but a human story of rage and redemption, an emotional journey from deep wounds to hard-earned wisdom. Give it a listen.

I’m on my second listen. If you like true crime you’ll love this. I’m pretty selective about my true crime podcasts, while I love the genre, not everyone can do it well. This podcast nails it. Worth the listen (both times)

The content and overall podcast as a whole is really interesting and I’m enjoying it. My complaint is the voice distortion that gets thrown in. It doesn’t make what he is saying more interesting, just makes it harder to understand.

I really enjoyed this podcast. Stumbled upon on when listening to a different podcast that Ben co-hosted. Ben is a great interviewer and Joe an excellent story teller. Looking forward to season two and will be checking out other podcasts from Ben Adair!

I really loved this podcast. I wanted a friend to know the story too, so I ordered the book online to give it to him for his birthday. However Since then it has been declared sold out on almost every website. I really want it and I hope it will become available again soon. Hope someone reads this.

I originally ran across the other podcast that focuses more on the bank robberies but I gotta say I love this one maybe more because Joe dives deeper into his personal life story plus you get the perspective of people who know Joe and some of the bank employees that he robbed! Was looking for a story to take me out of my head and boy did this deliver. I love the way that the host decides to contract the stories and uses multiple perspectives to really fact check the narrative and the infectious laughter

So enjoyed this podcast! Use this for whatever you need. A good story, therapy, motivation. I got all of it. Joe is resilient and I’m so psyched I listened. Hearts, hearts, hearts.

The only reason i gave this 3 stars is because maybe i didnt give it a fair chance. But it was so boring in the first 15 min I couldn’t take it. Plus the robber really cone across as a jerk.
dannaishungry via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 08/21/20
I really enjoyed this story , so many angles and different viewpoints to get an overall grasp of every thread . Joe is a character, no doubt about that . Very well done with the story and production values , definitely a great listen !!!

Not just about robbing banks, believe me there is a lot that is unpacked. At times you feel like Joe is embellishing himself but the more you listen the more you understand the persona of Joe.

This is my go to podcast to listen to while traveling. I just started listening on my short three hour trips, and it makes me forget my entire drive! It’s so captivating, entertaining, and I truly feel as if I know the characters/ speaker.

I’ve listened to so many podcasts and this is one of the best, I listened to the whole thing in a little over a day, very bing -worthy. I’m surprised there are so few reviews/listeners.

Wow
I was really touched by this podcast it goes deep into a mans past to explain what was going through the brain of a criminal, a man who was lost in society, and sobered up, opened his eyes and realized his action was hurting other people and his quest to return to society.

The subject gleefully recounts his crimes, and his descriptions are admittedly artful. Hearing fron his fanily and acquaintances is enlightening. Much of the story is extraordinarily violent. Mr. Loya seems like he wants to couch a lot of his behavior in a sob story about his past — my take on it...Read full review »

This is a very well done podcast but the focus on the childhood violence was too much for me. And there is so much of it that hearing it over and over and in such great detail is just beyond heartbreaking. Of course this is what happened to these boys at the hands of their monster father, but I...Read full review »
