“I really wanted to like this but the voice acting is infuriatingly bad to the point it completely distracts me from the story. I got to about episode 12 and had to give up. The voice actors all use the same annoying method to try and sound authentic, which is to pause after the first word then stretch out random words after that. And Anna’s fake laugh. Ugh.
The sound quality is also super annoying - I get that it’s meant to sound like it’s recorded on device but it doesn’t have to be applied to everything, we get it by now!
Another annoying thing I’ve noticed in storytelling recently is everyone’s sexuality has to be centre of everything and everyone has to be queer. This is not authentic representation. I think people’s sexuality (queer or not) should be discussed only where it’s actually part of the story and we shouldn’t have to make a huge deal about someone being queer, like it’s their sole defining characteristic. The way it’s discussed in this story it just feels arbitrarily jammed in there.”
