“Here’s the thing that most podcasts do but really doesn’t need to-
STOP RELEASING THEM EPISODICALLY!
Mass distribute and let ME decide if I want to binge or consume in small quantities. I feel like I’m old enough to gage whether I can determine when I’ve had enough.
Worth noting, I’m not listening to or recommending anything I like that is released in episodes until everything has been released and you’re free to peruse at your own pace. I don’t care enough to be part of a trend and find out along with everyone that a story is poorly produced, shoddily told, or interesting enough to be angry that I have to be spoon fed like an infant.
It would be akin to a publisher releasing a new book but only in chapters, because word of mouth might increase by doing so, or bringing on advertisers by using a ridiculous ratings system will generate more income.
Sorry Apple, Wondery & TSND, I’m not following your schedule; you need to catch up to the curve on this one. Spotify is showing you how it’s done, and you can’t unring this bell.
Consumers are tired of kowtowing to your nonsense and I’ll be listening to everything on their channel from here on out. I pay for ad-free, and even when a podcast does have ads inserted and I have the option of FF through, I will listen to the ads to support the sponsors if I have the option to listen all at once.”
