Immersive. Strange. Possibly too much?
As a huge fan of I Am In Eskew, I quickly jumped into the Silt Verses. This show offers a bizarre and unique world with an almost dreamlike quality to the narrative. I'm particularly a fan of whenever the creepy drive time radio cuts into the broadcast. The podcast certainly doesn't hold your hand in terms of explaining the world, meaning that oftentimes I'll enjoy the episode but still not be entirely certain what exactly happened (not necessarily a bad thing). There is also some confusion w/r/t one main character's gender (at the risk of sounding not very progressive, this needed to be explained at the top). As the series progresses, some of the audio quality starts to dip, perhaps from remote recording during the pandemic. One character in episode 9 is very scratchy and I could hardly get through episode 10's static and whispering. The Silt Verses is a surreal road trip in a world of consumerist deities. You'll certainly lose yourself in this show.Read full review »

Beautiful writing, excellent acting, spectacular worldbuilding. The soundscapes are subtle and not at all overdone which many fiction pods struggle with. Eerie, mysterious and captivating.

Good writing, overall good acting and… it stays steady. Not happy endings here but…. Good writing and production.
