Every year or so I try to listen to this podcast, being Australian and looking for local skeptical reports. Why is every conversation accompanied by music? And presenter talking like a rock star to himself. I’m a long time listener to SGU, Reality Check and Skeptics with a K, OS skeptic podcasts...Read full review »

Richard answers all the questions or points you where you can find the answers for yourself. He asks probing questions with insight and respect. He does not dismiss the person or insult the believer. Richard tells you why something is bunkum and does not assume you would have prior knowledge....Read full review »

Waaaaay too “Richard Saunders”. Time for a new voice.

Although the podcast typically deals with Australian issues regarding pseudoscience and quackery, much of this is universal -even to an American like me. This was one of the first skeptical podcasts I discovered, and Susan Gerbic‘s interviews and promo spots on the show pushed me off the fence...Read full review »

I listen to The Skeptic Zone weekly... I love the variety of topics and guest reporters. Richard Saunders is a great host. His regular contributor, Maynard is a hoot.

Must add that I have been interviewed on the zone many times. But before that happened I was a long time listener. The Zone inspired me to become an activist in skepticism. Love the entire cast and the show continues to inspire me.

Have been listing for years so i thought its time to thank Richard and crew for a very important and informative show. Helped push me along the path of skeptical thinking. Thanks Guys

If someone told me five years ago that I would wait with bated breath every week for a skeptics (sceptics?) podcast from Australia to be released, I'd have called them silly. As it is, this is an amazing show. Richard Saunders and his contributors provide excellent information on a range of...Read full review »

I found little to recommend about this show; it seems forced and cliched. There's plenty of other good shows out there thankfully.Read full review »

Unfortunately I no longer recommend this podcast. It has become insider-political, far too pandering to 'celebrities' in what has become a most uncritical and unskeptical community and the way it drags and drags from item to item reflects its ageing and often desperate attempt to be...Read full review »

What may have started as a good idea has become a personality-puffing narcissistic mess of forced laughs and really fuddy-duddy jokes. When a show is losing steam, it's best to retire with grace. Too late for Skeptic Zone.Read full review »

I have listened with growing glee as you guys down under have repeatedly shafted those grubby little cretins, the AVN, over the last year. Fantastic work and a fantastic show.

Not literally a spin-off. But the show's unstructured style & Richard's showmanship / stage performance approach to hosting makes for a podcast that i think can be best described as "what would happen if Evan & Bob did an SGU spinoff without Steve, Jay & Rebecca to groan...Read full review »

Richard Saunders has one of the smoothest voices on the internet, so comfortable. And dr. Rachel rocks! Takes up relevant science, and interviews amazing people

Yes there is the science, and yes they can be a bit up themselves and haughty - but they are all good fun characters who mean well and make me smile! Love it!

Just because you're a bastion of truth doesn't mean you can get away with being a bore or a dribbling self promoting nunce. I listened to an entire episode and it contained promotion for a rural skeptic event, banal criticisms of the anti-vaccine movement (which was probably the most...Read full review »

Occasionally the podcast is informative and interesting, e.g. on the topic of vaccines, but too much time is spent chatting with the host's friends and catching up with what they have been doing. Well, I don't know these people, and it doesn't interest me at all which conventions they last...Read full review »

Richard produces an excellent podcast of professional radio quality. The skeptical points of view and stories from the shows correspondents are always interesting and insightful. This has been one of my favorite shows for over two years now.

Richard Saunders actively participates in debunking and testing bizarre claims, he is not merely a sideline commentator. Dr Rachy likewise is actively involved in squashing antivax harm, and is quite literally saving lives. Essential listening along with the sgu.

Thoughtful, informative, and well produced. Scientific Skepticism at its best. I will be listening regularly along with Skeptic's Guide to the Universe (US) and Skeptics With a K (UK). Great stuff.

I'm an American who started listening to the Skeptic Zone several years ago. I enjoy listening to this podcast. this podcast is nothing but self-promoting dribble. the first episode is pretty much just them talking about themselves and their previous vodcast. The following podcast is more self-induldgent dribble with them discussing being a skeptic.

When I heard a few years years ago that the Australian Skeptics would be joining the podcast community, I was initially... well, skeptical.
