Good -- but declining
I've listened to every episode so far of The Skeptic's Guide to the Universe, and at first I was fascinated. I must have listened to 10 episodes a week until I ran out of episodes to listen to. But lately, I've been disappointed. Increasingly, the group is covering themselves. It's gotten a bit solipsistic. Okay, so the geeky jokes aside (and folks, these are really a group of true geeks), they talk about everything from big foot and intelligent design to the absurdity of the celebrity psychics. What is this new stuff in which they seem to be appealing to a group of wanna-be, groupie subscibers? I just want to listen to a skeptical podcast without being forced to listen to their inside jokes? Recently, there have been several episode on The Amazing Meeting (with poor sound quality) and despite the fact that I enjoy the skeptical podcast, I really am not so much of a groupie that I would attend TAM, and I refused to wade through the poor sound quality to hear the talks. I feel like this podcast has become something like Star Trek -- a group of insiders. You all need to widen your appeal or you're only going to be speaking to the insiders! Please speak to EVERYONE.Read full review »

Guests are interviewed, both skeptics and believers get time to talk about their ideas and thoughts in a format where noone is...Read full review »

Great introduction to skepticism, logic fallacies and entertaining to boot. This was my introduction to podcasts and I struck gold on the first try. Keep up the excellent work Dr. Steve and gang!
