Football discussion with substance
All too often in the modern era, punditry is an activity consisting of the constant repetition of certain choice phrases and idioms with a smattering of banal truisms, ostensibly hard-hitting tactical analysis, and an unwavering commitment to consensus thrown in for good measure. Eamon Dunphy's podcast is a welcome departure from established commentary, backed up by his uniquely charismatic character. I use the term "unique" very purposefully, as Eamon is not a typically airbrushed host (this is certainly not something I reproach the pod for, as the above paragraph should show clearly), yet this makes him all the more enjoyable to listen to, irrespective of the actual substance of his punditry (fortunately, this is of a quality rarely seen). No review would be complete without noting the incredible range of knowledge and insight brought by guests, many of whom are regulars, and with unwavering consistency speak their mind, even if this involves forcefully challenging the host. Top quality.Read full review »

Your reviews of the weekends football is head and shoulders above your rivals. If this were the 90s you would be the Alex Ferguson of the podcast world. Great work fella.

Some of the politics interviews are excellent, Robert Fisk for example, the football stuff comes across as seriously dated though, they sound a bit clueless

Great to hear Eamonn back in his “Last Word “ guise ,the hegemony of the “fourth Estate “ as guardians of public discourse is laid bare as legacy media hacks thinking they are still relevant. They are as dead as ink .
