I listened to series 1 & was delighted when series 2 landed. The stories are interesting in themselves. But the way Isla tells it makes them more so. I love the sound of her voice. Isla could be reading the back of a medicine bottle & I wouldn’t care.

Absolutely brilliant. I am late to find this but this is a new fave!! Had to binge the series. The Scottish accent is a bonus too! I love it! It takes me back to the years I lived there. Lovely people and a lovely part of the UK! Great podcast

I was a 16 year old girl living in Aberdeen at the time of Melanie’s murder. I remember when it happened but this podcast has informed me of so much more. Well put together and hugely insightful your heart can’t help going out to Melanie’s family. On the episode where Chris meets Melanie’s mum I...Read full review »

I like to think I’m a bit of a connoisseur when it comes to crime podcasts. I have a particular genre and that is crime. I’ve listened to many, and season 2 has absolutely not disappointed. I’ve only ever left one review on a podcast, that was on Season 1. That itself speaks volumes. Isla, please...Read full review »

Wow! I cannot get enough of this series! Unlike the first series of the Storyteller (which is an absolute must listen to too!) I had never even heard of this murder case. But from episode 1, I was completely captivated! Such a complicated case, I don’t know how The Storyteller Isla, has managed...Read full review »

Absolutely love this pod cast. As a true crime fan Isla’s podcast does not disappoint! This is the second time that she has covered a case that I knew nothing about. I’ve never done a podcast review, and I listen to a ton of true crime podcasts. Isla and her podcast is HANDS DOWN the best I have listened to. She is awesome. What an amazing storyteller Isla is! I have enjoyed this podcast immensely 👌 I remember the murder of Melanie Stirton clearly as I lived in Aberdeenshire and was around the same age as her. The story certainly dominated the headlines and shook the North East community at the time. To be able to...Read full review »

It’s an interesting story but it is very slowly told, almost to pad out the episodes. Very repetitive between episodes and builds no real suspense.

A crime that took place so many decades ago, but each episode of The Storyteller: Violent Delights, draws you deep into that world, making it feel current and immediate. We sincerely respect the victims in this sad, sad event. However the journalistic approach in telling Melanie’s story missed so many marks, by shallow and sensationalist storytelling that lacked depth and substance.
