I have been listening every Thursday night and just transported into this, so brilliant. Thank you Isla for all your hard work getting this important story out!

The first two seasons of The Storyteller, Murder Most Foul and Violent Delights are both very well written and presented in a traditions podcast narrative, both are compelling to listen to and are brilliantly delivered. This however, this is truly exceptional. Delivered in real time as a court...Read full review »

Have been listening to podcasts for years of all different genres and I can honestly say this is one of the best podcasts I’ve listened to. Fantastic work and would highly recommend!

I am obsessed with this podcast . These are stories that need to be told-and they are done so expertly. Thank you x

An absolutely brilliant and gut wrenching listen, I have looked forward to this each week. Amazing to hear the details of the trial like this and to witness justice finally unfold for Brenda and her family. I felt like I was in the courtroom too. Isla’s commentary is sensitive and insightful.

Isla Traquair is an incredible journalist. I’ve loved all her podcasts but this has been next level. Isla takes us on a detailed journey in the trial of a man accused of killing his ex wife, Dr Brenda Page 45 years ago. It’s a long slow burn but will leave you feeling that you have a strong...Read full review »

Thursdays won’t be the same without this podcast. Isla is a smart, talented and compassionate journalist, and she deserves all the awards, plaudits and financial rewards possible. I like to think that somewhere, somehow, Brenda knows how much care and love has gone into this incredible...Read full review »

This has been educational, emotional and entertaining. To be given such a close up of the criminal justice, the complexity of abusive relationships and the heavy weight of the patriarchy is something that everyone would benefit from witnessing. Beautifully delivered! I found the narrator’s and...Read full review »

I’ve been living for my Thursday fix , what an amazing woman you are Isla , your dedication to this story about another amazing woman has been so gripping and so sensitively addressed . You should be so proud , rest now Brenda .

I have listened to all 3 of the cases covered on this podcast. I felt like the cases were covered without the journalist putting in a lot of her opinions which I was happy about as it gave me the opportunity to listen and make up my own mind. On the last case - Brenda Page, I saw a programme on...Read full review »

This was fascinating from a Scottish court proceedings point of view. I saw the TV documentary but this goes into the whole thing in much more depth (although it really didn’t need to be so long and drawn out imo). Unfortunately the narrative is insanely biased. Even to the point that when the...Read full review »

Love the podcast but have 1 criticism. Isla tells us her job is to present the cases and let the listener make up their own minds without voicing a view, yet interrupts Kit Harrison’s defence every 5mins to rebut. I actually agree with most of Isla’s views but I do feel she would be better...Read full review »

Totally gripped on another brilliant and compelling story told by Isla Traquair. I must admit I have to listen to each episode at least 5 times as her transcendent voice sends me in and out of consciousness before bed! But the story and the way she tells it is absolutely incredible!

Journalism with a heart. Riveting storytelling handled with care & respect. Isla keeps the victims front and centre all of the time. So good I signed up to her top tier Patreon!

Such a shame that the presenter from the start makes the result clear with her constant repetition of ‘bringing a killer to justice’. Her bias was vitriolic most of the time. In her own words she was seethingly angry when the defence were summoning up their case. All such a shame as I would have...Read full review »

This podcast is a really great example of how the current legal system is not fit to protect those who have been abused. The way they are treated in court is abhorrent. Underneath the surface, nothing has changed since 1970s and it needs reform.

An excellent podcast which provides valuable insights into the murder of Dr Page. I’ve also enjoyed the wealth of additional material Isla provides on the Patreon page. Very well done.

Very interesting listening to the court proceedings but it’s made clear very quickly that the presenter thinks the accused is guilty. I’d have preferred a sober take from the presenter and not her interjecting her opinions and let us the listeners decide the outcome ourselves as an additional...Read full review »

As a true crime podcast aficionado, let me tell you there is literally no reason for a true crime podcast about a single case to span 30+ episodes - other than perhaps to sell more ad space, if you’re being cynical. If Serial could wrap cases as complex as the ones they featured in 8-9...Read full review »

Wow-this podcast has been incredible. Isla Traquair has done such sterling work and it’s been a compelling and fascinating listen. Thank you! This isn’t a criticism of the podcast, far from it, but once again Isla has shone a light on the misogyny that sadly persists: the defence have portrayed...Read full review »

The long-form journalism in this podcast is the best way (other than a book) to document the trial, provide insight into Brenda Page and her circumstances and relationships (victimology), explain the relevant rules of law and how they apply to elements of the trial, as well as provide detailed...Read full review »

I must first declare a direct interest in this case for this review. Just listened to episode 10 of murder most foul and what an inspiration Susan, Kris and Jean were. I don’t believe any of them can have ‘closure” but I think that maybe each day and night can start to be a little bit better and that’s something at least. Well done Isla

A whole week to wait for a 45 minute episode to drop, only to find that it is almost incomprehensible due to very poor audio. Why play the whole interview tape with Kit if it so inaudible. Such a shame as this is a very interesting story and started well with the first few episodes. What is phenomenal here is not the access to the trial (though that is to be commended), but the scale and the depth of the storytelling. This podcast takes us through every detail of the trial.
