More than that, they explain how and why Austen used each item, place, or custom, to deepen characterization or advance the plot — so they help deepen our appreciation of her literary skill.
The early episodes are a bit chatty for my taste. But I suppose that’s how we know they’re the work of real live people and not AI-narrated encyclopedia articles.”
