Sort-of-Brummie
A riveting listen, and an important journey. Should be required listening in British schools... Well-recommended. I fully understand Hamza’s ambivalence about belonging although for different reasons. On a different note, I also well-remember growing up in Birmingham (1970s) a boy telling me that he went out “paki-bashing”. I was shocked, but did not express it, to my lasting regret.

3 episodes down and I’m still not into it. They keep playing up the story as though something interesting is about to happen but…nothing interesting. I loved s-town for it’s comical idiosyncrasies, so this one is a big let down.

I’m on episode 7, having only started the show yesterday. A really brilliant look at the islamaphobia being perpetuated by key institutions in modern day Britain. Another classic by Brian and an impressive debut by Hamza! Also, asking for a friend… is Hamza single? That man is dreamy.
