Love the show, quite informative and entertaining, would have given a 5 star review if it wasn’t for the gambling ads. I don’t mind ads in general but the show should be a bit more selective about who they receive sponsorship from.

This show has been one of my favourites for a long time but has really started to go downhill over the last few months. Meaningful discussion is scarce - The Verge has a lot of insightful reporters, and when they have the opportunity share their insights on this show they are often valuable and...Read full review »

Mistaking snark for wit, the podcast has lost its footing. The hosts now senselessly repeat the things that made the show famous, like totems designed to desperately build its former identity into a “Brand”. They seem to believe that negativity as a default is cool and enthusiasm ironically...Read full review »

Would be better if they stopped trying to be comedians - it gets tiresome so I end up skipping whole sections (show doesn’t even have chapters - which you’d think a tech podcast would be aware of and implement ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )

The addition of Alex to the show is good as in it adds a female voice. But it is bad in every other way. Alex says things like- “if you buy this laptop, you’re DUMB.” and “X feature is …DUMB.” There are moments where I think that Alex is not paying attention to the conversation and is trying to...Read full review »

Vergcast is by far my favourite podcast, but the Wednesday show format just isn’t working for me at all. We are only 2 episodes in and this week we had a 20 minute segment listening to terrible audio through Bluetooth speakers. While this may be interesting if your looking for this info, that’s a...Read full review »

I was sad to see Dieter go, but I’m happy with the cast. I’ve always loved the common fixtures of the pod, Nilay and Alex especially, and Monica whenever a new laptop comes out. Evolving the cast with time makes me like it more because I’m still going to be listening as long as the Gene5is and...Read full review »

Dieter leaving was the end of this for me. New cast is not as interesting and has less to contribute. The discussion feels much less informed.

Edit: Sending this back up to five stars. I think Alex got some training or something because she, and the show, we’re great this week (5/20)! All the interrupting and bad jokes were gone, much better banter and contributions. Keep it up! Old review: This has long been one of my favorite podcasts...Read full review »

I don't know what happened to this podast. What used to be an informative hour, often with a deep dive into some of the more obscure sides of tech, has just turned into 60 minutes of giggling and laughing at things that are probably inside jokes at the Verge. Far from what it used to be.Read full review »

Show is great. Always love Nilay, Tom Warren, and others. Have to get Alex Cranz off and her overly nerdy, cringey one-liners and perspectives and constant interruptions (“Yeah!” “Yeah!”). Her opinions are quickly thought out and light. She gets constantly corrected and challenged by Nilay.

Jeez, what’s with the continuous inane comments by the panel? The show is full of screwy, juvenile, and simplistic, opinions and commentary. Why does everything have to trigger a round of laughter and teenage giggling? Unfollowing, and will find a serious podcast.

One of the better shows, but as of late the signal to noise ratio is going down. Would be nice to get hosts that do more than giggle and speak nonsense and actually bring up new points of views and background on the topics.

Alex Cranz has ruined this Podcast for me. I don’t appreciate her constant interruptions and her cringey one liners which completely derails the conversation. I stuck around because I loved listening to Nilay and Dieter but now that Dieter has gone to Google I will stop listening.

I have been a listener for a while and thoroughly enjoy the podcast every week. Dieter going away is a bummer and discussions are a little diluted without him. Love Nilay’s hostmanship and insights and the team’s coverage. Will miss Deiter Bohn sorely though. (Also miss Ctrl+Walt+Delete.) Great tech topics. It’s fun too. Look forward to the Vergecast every Friday; it’s one of my top listens.

For “podcasters” to use the word “like” in every other sentence, this sounds like a group of teenagers sitting around Zoom talking to one another about technology. If these journalists can avoid using the word “like” in every other sentence in print, they should definitely do it on the podcast.

I have listened to this podcast since the days before the Verge had a real name and Joshua Topolsky was the man in charge. I don’t normally post internet criticism — there’s enough negativity out there already. However, this is the mechanism to provide feedback where Nilay and cohosts might see it so here goes.
