I am so pumped to bring you this episode. We are  tackling another really tricky topic. But men, it’s a good one. You are going to love Ahyiana Angel for taking us through the world of White privilege and unpacking it together.    You’re gonna love my very ignorant questions that I've been asking since I reached out to you guys and I said “hey, if you have any question, or there’s something you’re struggling with, let me know.” This was a scary topic that some of you brought up that you really just want to understand better.   As I mentioned in my podcast with Keenya Kelly where we cover a ton of tricky topics on the riots, protesting, black lives matter vs. all lives matter and really important topics. Go check that one out.  I also do want to let you know that these episodes that we’re recording are raw--- super raw and messy! As is this conversation about racism, I am recognizing how much I do not know, how much I need to learn, how much I need to educate myself and how much do I need to sit and listen.  It was really important a few weeks ago to start to listen to voices out there that were telling stories that were helping me to understand.That were sharing their experiences and their points of views in a way that I could really digest. Also in a way that was super truthful, transparent but also really kind.  Ahyiana Angel was hands down one of  those people. She’s fantastic! We had Ahyiana before for her business. We brought her on just for her business- Mayzie Media which is incredible. After I brought her in for the podcast to talk about her business, I just had been having a ton of conversation about White privilege. For some reason I was feeling called to have a conversation about white privilege and to put it on a podcast..  Fast forward now both her and I were like, “Why didn’t we record that?” but it’s almost even more relevant now and we can have this conversation in a way that I feel is really important and explore each side of it.    Here’s what you’ll find out today…  What really is a White privilege?
