“These two are really pieces of work. For 10 years I served the UN as a Child Protection in Emergencies (CPiE) Specialist.
I worked in Libya, Syria, South Sudan, and the Boko Haram Crisis in Nigeria to name a few places doing family tracing for unaccompanied minor’s and overseeing the demobilization of child combatants.
I’ve been to Kenya many times and have respected senior colleagues who are Kenyan who - among others - laughed their asses off whenever I would ask them ‘hey, ever seen these guys?’ and show one of their WE Day nonsense cultish shows filled with screaming teens who were as clueless as to what they were screaming for as their parents were for sending them to such events. They couldn’t believe they were getting away with it.
The Kielburger’s and the claims they made make them total charlatans. I can tell you what’s scarier than their shameless profiteering is the blind idiocy of the corporations which unquestioningly supported this smoke-and-mirror show and the everyday Canadians who went along with it right up to the Prime Minister.
Proof positive of the power of marketing to manipulate.
You should follow this up with a major investigation of the corporate sponsors and the celebrities who endorsed this boondoggle.
