Our values need to be Faith-Driven
Will, you are getting "warm"....All of mankind is broken and we truly are sinners. Even when we are seeking "Utopia,"--it is never an altruistic endeavor. It arises out of a quest for power and a desire to be like God, going back to the Garden (Genesis 3). The only lasting values descend from the Son of God, Jesus, the Messiah. He said that most men want to lord it over other. He told his disciples that to be great in God's kingdom, you needed to be a servant of all. Jesus said that we should love our enemies and do good to those who despitefully use us. Jesus said that what is truly meaningful and a revelation of our character and relationship with God is NOT what we say (talk is cheap), but what we do (i.e. Drew Breese). Jesus said that out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. In other words, we can size up a person and his or her character by the continual words that come out of their mouths. I could go on, but you get the picture. The Kingdom of God is the only lasting kingdom, and it will see its fruition with the 2nd coming of Jesus, the Messiah. Until then, all that fallen men can come up with as "little gods" is a sick, twisted version which they call "utopia."Read full review »
