The best way to read Tolkien--with this Podcast
I read the Hobbit as a kid, couldn't remember much of it, and never felt motivated to read any other Tolkien -- I thought it just wasn't for me. But when I heard Alastair was doing a podcast on the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings trilogy, I knew I had to read them all. Alastair has a way of drawing you into his love of story, and his discussion of the books sheds a light on them that I otherwise would not have seen. Even if you thought you didn't like Tolkien's works, if you listen to this podcast, you're going to love them!Read full review »

This work is very derivative, largely "borrowed" from actual scholars who've done the real work. Seek them out and listen to them for legitimate insight.Read full review »
