It’s alright?
To preface I’m definitely an obsessive, have rewatched all the way through at least 10 times. Dan and Roberta are lively and do a good job of not just recapping but having some discussion of dialogue, themes in an episode, etc. I was hoping for something more in depth. There are other die hards like me and it’s a tough crowd to please for sure. Often there are minor mistakes in recalling lines or scenes which feels a little excruciating. Like if you’re hosting a podcast, maybe watch the episode twice? The hosts will go back and forth about something that could be resolved with a simple rewatching of a scene. “Arguing about facts” as Pete’s mom would say haha. Sometimes they spend wayy too much time on esoterics- some general ‘feeling’ of an episode or scene but very little specifics as to how or why or what it means? Especially since this show is so intentional with set design, costuming, line inflection, callbacks in the dialogue… you know, the things that make it so rewatchable. One good point has been the exploration of Jewish themes and nuances that I’m not knowledgeable of. Also the guests are great!

So nice to have this...Read full review »

Once I found this podcast I went back to the first episode and have listened to every one. Roberta and Dan are excellent hosts and I can’t wait for all the episodes still to come.

Great discussion between the hosts. I don't always agree with every take they have, but that makes it fun; it's better than listening to people parrot back to you everything you think. And I really appreciate it when I'm presented with a new take on something. They bring up ideas on...Read full review »
