Missed opportunity
Could have been the most impactful and important podcast in recent history. Instead they stretch the story out over 6 episodes making it hard to follow and dull. 3 short sharp hard hitting episodes would have had much more effect. A few technical issues too. The background music often overpowers the speech making it hard to hear the interviews. The immense amount of reverb/echo added in for recreated quotes also makes it impossible to listen to on any type of multi speaker setup. Brilliant and important story. Just feels like “they tried too hard”.

More reviews of Thin Black Line
Another incredible piece of investigative journalism by Allan Clarke. This time about the deeply tragic and unjustly handled death of young dancer, Daniel Yock, while in brief police custody in 1993. As always Clarke’s approach is intelligent, thorough, thoughtful and sensitive.

I can’t believe that this case, like so many others, has been swept under the rug. We should all be talking about this injustice and doing something about it. Well done to all involved. Even though it was heartbreaking to listen to this is so well made.

As a non-Indigenous Australian I am so heartbroken at the treatment of Aboriginal people in this country. This podcast should be required listening for ALL Australians
