The eerie hype of self-improvement influencers

The eerie hype of self-improvement influencers

This Isn't Therapy...this is an (accidental) deep dive into self-improvement influencers and the impact they're having on men: "how to be more alpha by yelling at the ocean!! How to get a six pack by eating a pound of raw liver a day!! Why being sad is a state of mind so go chew on a football!!!! Oh no!! Don't fret though, Simon and Jake keep it flirty and fun as they discuss the online obsession with fitness, mindset, and self-optimization. Are we undoing the progress we’ve made to reduce mental health stigma?!

Does anyone feel like an actual adult?

Does anyone feel like an actual adult?

This Isn't Therapy... it's a conversation about becoming a confident, capable, and emotionally mature adult. In this episode, Jake and Simon talk about the mirage of adulthood and the search for the "real adults". If you're feeling the pressure to perform a certain brand of adulthood, you don't want to miss this one. Jake and Simon dive into an article by Kathryn Jezer-Morton for The Cut called Does anyone feel like an actual adult?and tackle the myth of the ~fully realized~ adult. This one's for anyone who feels like they’re cosplaying as an adult or simply wearing a grown up costume.

Love this podcast

Really enjoy each episode. Please please increase the base volume of the episode. I listen in my car and i have to put it on max volume to hear and i still strain to hear. Jake’s beautiful voice especially just seems to be slightly too soft at this level. Thanks! ☺️

This isn’t therapy but these lovely lads are THERAPEUTIC

Jake and Simon has been getting me through the week since the pandemic. Not only are these goofy gals fun to listen to, but they also dive deep into some heavier topics in a really accessible way. If you’re looking for a podcast that will soothe your soul and tickle your funny bones, you’ve come to the right place.

Disclaimer: will cause feelings of joy and awe, and there will be lots of silly tangents along the way.

Flirty, fun, and fabulous

Thankful to have a space to learn and listen to important and useful content on mental health without constantly being dragged down by heavy topics. I LOVE listening to Jake and Simon and getting to laugh out loud!! It really takes the weight off my shoulders and allows me to move forward with new ideas without feeling like I’ve been wrong for not knowing or implementing them before. I have been able to take so many new viewpoints and thoughts with me from this show but I keep coming back and get so excited every Thursday because I know I’m about to seriously just enjoy listening to a nice chat with my friends (parasocial who). Please never stop making these, I adore them, THANK YOU!!! ❤️💕 also please continue the impersonations they KILL ME 😂
