October Vagabonds by Richard le Gallienne tells the story of Richard and his friend Collin and their return to New York City at the end of the summer. The pair decide that, rather than taking the train, they will walk the entire 430 mile trip to the city. This fictional story is told as a peaceful and heartwarming travelogue of two artistic types as they observe nature, meet new and interesting people, and learn about the world and their place in it.
