Really, really terrible all around
The narrator/ “reporter” is tremendously unlikeable. He had a simpering nervous delivery and comes across incredibly insincere. I was initially intrigued by the podcast because I live in LA, and for many years Hollywood. But listening to it I have to ask, is what he’s doing even legal?! It appears he’s harassing family and friends, trying to tail a suspect, even getting his phone pinged to get his exact location?! This guy isn’t the LAPD, he wrote some books about being a player. What is going on in this world? The kicker is when he called the fiancée of the dead suspect THE SAME DAY he committed suicide and is almost gleeful during the conversation. It was sickening to listen to. He basically lied to get her to talk, said he was just a reporter trying to get both sides of the story when in actuality he was chasing her fiancé, pinging his phone and waiting outside the building to confront him. It’s like he thinks this is a game, that he’s cosplaying a stake out and getting off on it. Furthermore, did she know or give consent to be recorded and have her grief for public consumption on a podcast? If she didn’t know it was recorded that’s illegal in California. The subject matter is about a crazy, toxic couple and along with the ridiculousness of the production and narrator I’m done with this series. Save your time and listen to something else.
