The jokes are not funny. Report the news
I love Vox.com, I love podcasts, and I love to start my day with a short and concise 20 minuet news update. What I don’t love is someone attempting to inject jokes into a subject or area where they are not needed. My issue with this podcast is that Sean Rameswaram (the host) seems to think that everyone needs a bit of humor injected every few sentences. I am not asking for a bleak, serious, and uptight podcast, however, there is a way to use humor at the appropriate times. I would honestly call the humor here the byproduct of a man attempting to get cheap laughs from a large crowd causing a all around “cringe” feel. The jokes not clever they’re immature. As stated, I don’t want an incredibly serious podcast with bleak and depressing aspects. But Mr. Rameswaram needs to lay off his attempt to be funny. It seems he’s trying to tell jokes first and report the news second, but he’s not John Oliver. Report the news first, then after inject some light hearted humor if you feel it’s needed and would help the overall story. Please stop forcing it. First step, stop referring to coronavirus as “the rona” ....

More reviews of Today, Explained
I thought this would be a news show, but it’s more of a mini-doc on something newsy. It doesn’t cover the days news like I expected.

Not the typical boring daily news briefing. Deep dives into important matters that we’ve come to expect from Vox. Highly recommend this daily podcast

The typical high-quality reporting and analysis I’m used to from Vox. The show is as good as they say it is!
