Description
Welcome to Today In Space the all things space podcast. I am your space science podcast host from the East coast Alex G Orphanos. We are recording this from Planet Earth as Artemis 1 travels the Moon, the date is December 5, 2022. Here’s what we’re talking about this week: In our last episode we reviewed the NASA Artemis 1 mission leading up to its first lunar flyby as it was on its way to enter DRO, a highly fuel efficient orbit around the moon. This episode we review Orions time at the moon in DRO, including the start of its trip back to earth using the moon as a slingshot on its second and final flyby of the moon. We’ll review Flight days 10-20, including the 5 days in Distant Retrograde Orbit. We’ll share interesting facts and observations from it’s time there, including some of the incredible images and the flawless performance of both Orion and the ESA service module. We’d love to know your favorite moments from the mission so far. Send us a message on social media, comment, or email us at [email protected]. We’d love to hear from you We’ll close out this episode chatting about plans for the new year, as this first lunar trip in half a century has us excited about the future! I’ll share a little about my process, tips, & challenges of planning for 2023. @todayinspacepod on Instagram/Twitter @todayinspace on TikTok /TodayInSpacePodcast on Facebook Have a great week!
