When trying to discover God’s purpose for our lives, we often look to external circumstances - factors often outside of our influence or control. The problem with this kind of thinking is that if circumstances don’t go in our favor, we are tempted to think we missed God’s purpose for our life, or He’s punishing us for making the wrong choice.
