Loved, but had to go
I have loved this pod for years now, and unfortunately unsubscribed for the laughter. I’ve always thought for years that it was okay to laugh if you’re not making fun of the victim, but it is a bit jarring and off-tone for something so serious as murder. Sometimes there are jokes about the friends of the family, or the police. But imagine your daughter/husband was a victim, how would you feel is Gillian/Patrick were being laughed at, their room, text messages, or a police officer who has worked hard to find them? No, the victim is not being laughed at, but it would still probably feel wrong and a bit insulting for there to be any jokes relating to a horrible crime. Additionally, I worry about the depersonalization of victims, where we forget that those are real people, and it is a tragedy. Not just a story to gawk at. I would love to see Gillian and Patrick do a pod together on something non-crime, because I think they’re funny and entertaining people. Golden Girls maybe? (I know G has a Hamilton pod, but I’m not a huge theatre person, sorry!)

Jillian and Patrick are absolutely HILARIOUS, and they're completely spot-on with their assessment of the people in the documentaries they discuss. I could definitely hang out with these two! HahaRead full review »
