We also talk about the grieving expat. Going through grief when no-one understands the enormity of your loss. How do we cope with losing expat friends when we’ve moved on to a new location?

    The Trailing Spouse is Dead

    The Trailing Spouse is Dead

The Trailing Spouse is dead – this week on the podcast we talk about why the “Accompanying Spouse” has arrived. I mean the Accompanying Spouse was always a better term wasn’t it? We all walk side by side don’t we? Sidenote – the term Trailing Spouse will no longer be used in the Two Fat Expats Facebook Group with Accompanying Spouse being the preferred term.

We’re also talking Posh and Becks and how no matter how much money you have or how many football teams you own you’re still going to lay awake at night thinking of schools, finding a hairdresser, finding new friends and feeling like a fish out of water.

We also discuss dealing with strong opinions on your host country from people who’ve never lived there. Has social media made it worse?

Fantastic

I have loved this podcast for many years - Dr Phil drove me to add a review! This is a fantastic podcast that we love to listen to. It has been such a tough 18 months away from family and ‘home’ - your podcast has helped us realize we are not alone ! Thanks for your honesty and transparency! Love this podcast.

First review of a Podcast EVER

Thank you! Thank you for carrying on all year through what was probably the hardest year for expats ever. I haven’t seen my family or home country friends in over a year now and it’s just so comforting to know that I am not alone in the struggle. Your conversations are lively and relatable and real. Thank you! Keep them coming for 2021!

Fascinating glimpse into a totalitarian takeover

These two haven’t a clue that their government is using a virus to control its people. Canada and Australia are in lockstep. England is suppose to be as well but when 1 million take to the streets it tends to work. Good luck you two, you are becoming a communist country, it happens....
P.S. the only reason middle easterners say yes is not because they are conformists it is because they will get killed. Americans say no because the USA has a Bill of Rights and oh, no cop can make me wear a mask, they don’t even wear them. 😉 good luck. Tell your kid to become a paramedic in the states.
