Wonderful Podcast. Reference Episode 124, I am the great grandson of Jessie Buck nee Cameron/Noremac. This definitely fills in a lot of holes in my family history. My entire family cannot thank you enough and I am sure will be reaching out to you directly. Thanks Again! Ranger94

As a big trail and ultra running fan, this podcast has given me great perspective and insight into the real early days of ultra running and all of the wacky and crazy stories to go along with it.

I deeply appreciate the content, fact-checking, and historical context. The style -- Davy acting out the voices; constant sound clips (applause, laughter, animals, etc.) feels hokey, distracting, and unprofessional to me. I can see why younger runnners in particular aren't listening to this...Read full review »

I first read about Edward Payson Weston in a Reader’s Digest book called “Eat Better, Live Better” as a child. It has a section dedicated to exercise and an article called “Weston the Walker.” In my teens through my 30s I would walk and run for hours on end any time that I could. I never measured...Read full review »

.... that the history of ultrarunning could be so fascinating. .... that ultrarunning/walking has gone on for so long with so many interesting characters. .... that a story could be so well told, with such attention to detail and colour. .... that the reasons why we do it are just as inexplicable...Read full review »

Love the history but wish there was a history only version without the intro or the special effects. Seems like a lot of work that only distracts from the story.

Thanks Davy for your thorough research and great storytelling! Our sport needs this and isn’t being done like this anywhere else. Will be awesome to see this a couple years from now! Thanks again for what you do for the sport!

I listen to a fair few endurance pods (and even host my own). Ultrarunning History is one of my absolute favourites. It is super interesting, packed with facts but also very easy to listen too. Its subject matter is very unique in the cluttered genre of ultra pods. Love it.

Absolutely love these stories told about long forgotten adventures. Ultra running is not new and neither are the problems that need to be planned for and overcome. Davey Crocket has a quirky and endearing style that keeps me checking for the next download. Very well researched, and apparently...Read full review »

I listen to Davy on my walks to and from work and find him great company. He’s become a guilty pleasure, I find his storytelling calming and comfortable, almost like an old friend. From another Dave, Whitley Bay, UK

Really interesting show that is both entertaining and informative. This show brings to life historical figures and events that paved the way for what we now know as ultrarunning, FKTs and journey runs.

I know Davy and that he does his research and provides valid facts. I also love ultra running so this is a great podcast for my collection.
