“If you were a kid in the 90’s, these were the movies you saw at the video store. Occasionally one of your friends would see one and tell you about all the cool guns in it.
Another way to think about it is these are “Seinfeld movies”, films that Jerry and the gang got into comedic situations trying to go and see.
These are the kind of movies that don’t get made anymore, true middle brow art for a truly middle brow decade.”
