Pretend Psychologist
As someone with an undergrad and graduate degree in the mental health field, it’s upsetting to hear someone who does not have this background or certification, giving psychological advice. I would argue this is the true junk psychology. Especially upsetting is her reductive view of dealing with difficult people and situations: telling listeners to simply “handle your emotions better around them.” No details of what that means is provided, but the main issue is dismissing/invalidating/suppressing natural emotional responses, which exist for important reasons. This is especially disturbing because there are actually abusive/sociopathic/psychopathic people and circumstances, which require more than the victim simply “thinking differently” about it. This is just one example. Do better.
