I love this podcast. Useful tools for coping with the mental health while in graduate school.
I am in the process of finishing my Ph.D. in molecular biology. Anyone in graduate school knows how mental health can suffer during the process. I love Kara's topics from imposter syndrome to the thought work of changing negative thoughts. She also touches on current issues and societal messages that can be damaging to a woman's mental health. Previous reviews have criticized her for bad health advice. However, I think they misunderstood her intent of the messaging. She does not claim to be a nutritionist or health expert. I think Kara's goal is to not give actual health advice (you should seek a health professional for that), but to do the thought work on getting your mind right for happiness in your current state which could prepare yourself for physical change if desired. Many health and wellness professionals also touch on the importance of mental health when embarking on any kind of health journey. As a scientist, I recommend everyone should take the time to do the research on topics of interest, consult many professionals as needed, and remember that correlation does not mean causation in scientific literature. This is a podcast to expand your mental health toolbox and awareness, not a substitue for seeking health professionals. Give her break on the nutritional science.Read full review »

How could you not listen to this without rating it 5 star? I limit my consuming of “thinkers” to 5 at a time. I’m dropping. This podcast took work that I already know and raised the bar ten fold . She is so, so clever. And so so clear. Thank you. Won over.
