138. Obstacles to Better Sex in Your Marriage
There are many things that can create obstacles to great sex in your marriage. These include your memories, communication, past trauma, libido, age, changes, stressors, insecurities, and addiction. There are many obstacles, but there is such hope! God can redeem, heal, and restore this area.
Don't let anything stop you from reclaiming ground in this area and doing what it takes to get help, whether that requires counseling, coaching, getting hormones aligned, stepping out of your comfort zone, or vulnerability.

Don’t move until God says so
I actually sent a dm recently and surprisingly, got a reply right away. I was angry, mad at my husband for not immediately repenting of his sins and wanting me 1000%. We had been listening to your podcast since January after I found out some very devastating news. I wanted to fix it. He accepted Jesus into his heart in February but then life and stress just continued to make the fight harder and our hearts got hardened faster than I ever thought. We were at a breaking point and I wrote you. You said to not move until God says so. I was irritated at first, not going to lie, I’m a stubborn trauma nurse who says things on her mind. Then I continued to read the words over and over and say them in my heart after working night shifts, while driving home. I was furious when my husband left without saying bye (I assumed to go train someone, he’s a personal trainer). Then I realized it was our church’s baptism and I was even more angry when I decided to drive by church to see if his motorcycle was there! He wouldn’t decide to get baptized without telling me would he?! I saw his motorcycle in the upper parking lot and let me tell you, God completely softened my heart by the time I went to the lower parking lot. I knew I had to find him! As soon as I finally found him (there were over 150 people getting baptized), he broke down and I hugged him. Probably the best hug we’ve ever had to date, because at that moment both of our hearts were softened. I called off to work and got to see my very best friend get baptized. He didn’t want to tell me because he had felt he needed to do it for himself and not as an “attempt” to win me back. God is good. And you telling me don’t move until God says so was exactly what I needed. We have a long way to go but I’m so proud of my husband in making this personal step. Thank you for always being raw and going through good and bad times so we can go through them together. And p.s. I love how nothing is rehearsed and it’s if we are hanging out in our living room!
Most Amazing, Funny, & Authentic Marriage Podcast
I absolutely love listening to Brad and Lisa. I am so incredibly thankful for their story and for their mission to help heal marriages. I love how funny, real, and comfortable they are with each other. You can really hear the love that they have for one another in the show. It’s truly so genuine because they’re each so strong in their individual walks with God. My husband and I have been married for almost 9 years & have 3 kids. We suffered from infidelity. God saved not only us as a couple but our family as a whole by restoring our marriage. I look forward to every new episode! Brad and Lisa have inspired me in so many ways. Not only to be a better wife, but how to also be the the best example for our kids and to trust in God with all of my heart. Learning the importance of nurturing my relationship with God has helped me to heal immensely. Thank you both so much for all that you do. 🙏🏻
Great Insight/Real Talk
Last year (feb 2023) we split up, we were on the verge of divorce. Our marriage was a mess - mainly because of my mistakes and transgressions. During our split I somehow stumbled on a reel on Instagram of Brad telling his story. It resonated. I started listening & my wife then started listening. I feel like this podcast opened up a dialogue between us to help us begin discussing our issues and start to reconcile our marriage. It gave us hope. Listening to Brad and Lisa felt like we were talking to someone who truly understood our situation.
Fast forward to today, about a year later. After some very constructive therapy sessions, a lot of podcast listening, being in the scriptures every evening together, praying every night together, a lot of hard conversations and a ton of hard work we're doing amazing. Our marriage has never been better. I know that doubling down on our faith and inviting God in to our marriage has been the catalyst that has made the difference send helped us heal and reconcile. We've truly witnessed a miracle unfold right in front of us. We've both been changed by God's grace.
Thank you Brad and Lisa for showing us how to open that door and invite the Lord in to our relationship. Thank you for the example you set. Thank you for being open and honest. We're now expecting a new baby this summer. As you begin your walk with Christ, anything is possible.
