A tad self-indulgent and ego-centric...
But those are just a few of the attractions of this particular podcast. I waited until I had listened to 30 editions, because in the spirit of Baseball Prospectus, I wanted to have enough exposure to the content to form a statistically significant opinion. That said, Kevin and Jason discuss the scouting side of baseball much more than the sabermetric. My favorite segments include the Not-Manager, What are you drinking? and the far too infrequent visits from Kevin's mom. The musical guests may not suite my taste, but I jumped off the pop culture train in the early 1990's. Then again, from firetrucks to garbage trucks, you never know what large (and loud) vehicle may drive past Jason's window. The baseball content is pretty good and the other stuff helps pass the time. The quality of the podcasts are excellent especially compared to podcasts from blogtalk radio. I recommend the podcast and at the price, you definitely get your money's worth!

Great chemistry between Jason and Kevin and always informative discussion (even the rambling tangents).

They have excellent guests that cover a wide range of topics within baseball. But it's not just all baseball. Pop culture references, food...Read full review »
