    Rabindranath Tagore born Robindronath Thakur, 7 May 1861 – 7 August 1941), also known by his pen name Bhanu Singha Thakur (Bhonita), and also known by his sobriquets Gurudev, Kabiguru, and Biswakabi, was a polymath, poet, musician, artist and ayurveda-researcher from the Indian subcontinent. He reshaped Bengali literature and music, as well as Indian art with Contextual Modernism in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Author of the "profoundly sensitive, fresh and beautiful verse" of Gitanjali, he became in 1913 the first non-European to win the Nobel Prize in Literature.

    Tetwal Ka Kutta - ٹیٹوال کا کتا is a story of an unfortunate dog caught between India and Pakistan war. When Indian forces find a stray dog they claim him as an indian dog but when Pakistani forces find out that their dog has been to the enemy camp they tie a message around his neck and send him back to the Indian side. Indian forces feel betrayed when they see their dog coming from the enemy side and they open fire at the dog. As a response Pakistani forces fire at the dog too. Caught between the two forces the dog is eventually shot dead.

    Quarantine is a story about a doctor and a sanitary worker, Bhago. And how after being inspired by Bhago's selflessness and devotion to save mankind the doctor ends up successfully fighting the quarantine.
    Rajinder Singh Bedi (1 September 1915 – 1984) is considered one of the great fiction writers of the subcontinent. He was an Indian urdu writer of the progressive writers movement and a playwright, who later worked in Hindi cinema as a film director, screenwriter and dialogue writer.

    In the story, Yazid, urdu يزيد, Manto explores the concept of an enemy. Based on the aftermaths of India Pakistan Partition of 1947, the story discusses how people reacts when they first find out that India is closing all the rivers that provide water to Pakistan. The protagonist of the story karim Daad, is a humble but an intelligent man who questions his fellow villagers behaviors towards India after receiving the news that soon India wants to destroy Pakistan by closing its water supplies.

Here, Manto beautifully narrates the tragic story of an old woman in search of her daughter, who got lost in the riots of 1947, India Pakistan partition. The old woman is adamant that her daughter is still alive because she is so beautiful that no one can harm her.
