    Episode Transcript (May Contain Spoilers):
SHANA: Hello, Vigil listeners. My name is Shana, and I’m the producer of Vigil. As many of you have probably heard by now, our host Maria Kennedy was abducted during a recording of an interview for Hero Trackers on June 6th. Local and national authorities have been investigating, but thus far, we’ve received no updates on the whereabouts of Maria in the weeks since her disappearance.
In an effort to find and rescue her, we’re reaching out for help. Many of you have already contacted us with tips and offers of support, and we are so thankful. What we can safely say at this time is: anyone who appeared on the podcast has been cleared of involvement; Vigil is deceased and could not possibly be involved in an abduction that occurred over a year after his death; and the criminal Morse is the primary suspect for this crime. If you have any information on Morse, please contact the authorities directly. We are going to play the recording of the interview during which Maria went missing. We share this with you in hopes that someone out there can hear something we couldn’t. Please be advised that the following may be disturbing to some listeners.
MARIA: Hello. Maria Kennedy here for Hero Trackers, and I’m sitting down with Angle, who is known for her daring takedowns of criminals like Coriolis and Nadir. Thanks for being with us here today.
    ANGLE: No problem.
MARIA: You’ve also got a bit of a history with a hero that I ‘ve gotten to know quite well recently…
ANGLE: (Chuckling) I knew you were going to bring this up! Yes, I did do some work with Vigil.
MARIA: (With good humor) Well, it’s hard not to ask when I’ve been hearing your voice in recordings for the past few months!
ANGLE: It wasn’t that many cases. Honestly, considering some of the other heroes we worked with—
    [Sounds of static.]
MARIA: I’m so sorry, just one moment. Shana, what’s—
ANGLE: (overlapping) Maria, are you okay?
MORSE: (overlapping) You did not heed the message.
    ANGLE: Everyone get down!
    MARIA: Angle—
    SHANA: Maria!—
[Confusion and exclamations from ANGLE, MARIA, and SHANA.]
MORSE: Now, I must make the code clear.
    [MARIA screams.]
    SHANA/ANGLE: No! Maria!
MORSE: And now, the liar is gone.
    The truth shall be revealed.
    Vigil. Is. A. Lie!
    [Morse code crescendos, then silence.]

    Introducing: Captain Hero!

    Introducing: Captain Hero!

Today we're presenting another podcast we love: Captain Hero! Captain Hero! is a modern, comedic take on 1930's futurism. Each short episode pays homage to different aspects of classic sci-fi, all while holding on to its humanitarian values. In the first season, nearly all characters are voiced by video game voice actor Joe Bianco (Oxenfree II, Streets of Rage 4, Jackbox Party Pack 8).
    ---
    Captain Hero! Season 2, Episode 4: Noir-9
Ex-detective Dick Valliant sits at Eddie's Pitstop downing can after can of motor oil as he hides out from Big Boss Bambinito's mafia goons. And he would have wasted away there too, if only the sultry Celia Von Chet stayed out of his life. How do our heroes fit into this weeks Captain Hero? Pour a whiskey, light an American cigarette and be carried away to the rough streets of Noir 9.

    More about Out of Place:
Andrew Moss doesn’t have much going for him, he dropped out of college, he lives alone, and his job involves staring at, and cataloguing every bit of broken pottery or “interesting” historic thing in the basement of the Carruthers Institute. That all changes when a mysterious package arrives from a Mr. Havisham- Inside is an artifact as mysterious as it is old.
Mr. Havisham’s artifacts are a constant source of dread for Andrew, who is equal parts confused, excited, and terrified of their existence- Because they’re not just out of time, but out of place. Andrew suspects that these artifacts don’t come from our world at all, but another world, with another history. It’s the only thing that could explain the marks of trepanation on a skull from the 80’s, or a pamphlet from a world where Pompeii wasn’t covered in ash.
If that’s the case… Who, or perhaps what is Mr. Havisham?

Please come back

I love shows like this and SPR. I seriously can’t wait to know more.

Genre tribute galore

I’m sucked in. This podcast feels like a The Question comic mixed with a not gory The Boys, but also has a spot on true crime riff going on at the same time. Some of the smartest super powers I’ve ever heard of. Alcohol transference? Perfect recall? C’mon.

More inspired than mainstream comics, with 100% less pretending that you’re doing more than looking at the 2 page fight spread.

Fun show!

Very interesting take on how superheroics would be run in this world, having it be businesses instead of banding together for whatever reasons. Also, nice format for such a show
