Mark Scarbrough may not be Virgil, but he’s a pretty amazing guide through hell
Fantastic podcast! Read The Comedy a few years ago, coming back to it now via James Joyce. This podcast has been so helpful in getting to grips with the subtleties of Dante’s text. Hanging in with Dante and Mark! This poem is so modern. It’s hard to fully grasp just how much of what Dante was doing has influenced modern writers - looking at you, Jimmy Joyce. So much going on here and what a fantastic job unpacking it all. Thanks for the tour!
