A bunch of non-conservatives complaining about the Alberta government and pining for the day the NDP gain power …so glad I have to pay for this …

Her arrogant tone distracted from an otherwise interesting dialogue. Her calling constituents “kooks” was a turn-off.

This pod is not objective news or opinion panels. It is heavily progressive/leftist biased in its coverage of current events. It is clear that they are towing their party's line and throwing shade at anything conservative.Read full review »

So sad seeing this show tumbling down the woke cesspit. I used to like hearing differing points of view but I now see that CBC’s zombie hand is too long and pulled them down into the pit. This week's topic was on Alberta’s announcement on Trans issues and water shortages. They twisted all of...Read full review »

What’s happened? There’s a lot happening, why no coverage?

Such biased, insulting rubbish. How is this ´journalism’? Shame. An hour long ad pro NDP / anti cup AND I have to pay for this. You went too far Kathleen. There was such pleasure tearing down the cup. Journalism? No plain opinionated punditry. So disappointing given the talent.

Much appreciated! It would be a massive step forward for the province if our leaders could follow their lead.

APP
I give Kathleen credit for being polite to Jim Dinning as he avoided answering tough questions and choose to cherry pick his facts
Britta3283 via Apple Podcasts · Canada · 10/28/23
An interesting albeit infuriating discussion about the APP. Where to start. Perhaps with Jim Dinning claiming that the telephone town halls is “listening” to people. 14,000 people on a phone call with curated questions and comments is not listening, it’s preaching. It’s a sales pitch with what...Read full review »

The guests were strong , especially Leach, given the topic. Time constraints sometimes limit the potential of this show. Listeners are capable of listening in segments. Are you unwilling to produce multiple podcasts on a topic? Some topics are an entree not an appetizer.

This is one of the best Canadian podcasts

If you have listened to this episode and made it through to the end, kudos to you! I found myself counting the “you know”, “like, you know” and “like” randomly dispersed in each sentence, sometimes more than once. It’s terribly distracting for a lengthy episode, which is too bad because the...Read full review »

I love the show, but it is very hard to listen to, especially at night. The audio levels range from whisper quiet to yelling within the course of a sentence, and the guests and hosts all sound terrible half the time. Thanks for looking into it team CBC!

Whatever happened to having guests with differing points of view? Not on this podcast!

Your last panel was great at throwing shade at rural prairie folk. Would be nice if you could of had an actual blue collar worker, or a cowboy or a farmer on there to actual give a different POV.

From my oversharing, rambling, ADHD heart to Ricks ears. Never change. lol. Love ya man! Kathleen pulls together an amazing show week after week.

A huge thank you to Kathleen Petty and her team for an informative, interesting and compelling take on Western politics. Once a Calgarian and now a Nova Scotian, the pod is a gift to those like me who need a continuous dose of Western politics to keep things real. Keep up the great work!

Enjoy listening to what the west is thinking, but the views expressed are really only those from Alberta and Saskatchewan. Apparently, people in Manitoba and British Columbia have no opinions that matter

Always look forward to it.

As a resident of central Ontario it behoves me to know what fellow citizens out west are thinking and feeling. The host and guests are brilliant.

The content is great, loving the show, but they need to learn how to coach people to mute or focus more on audio engineering.

Kathleen Petty is an excellent Journalist and has outstanding, educational and entertaining panel members making sense of very complex and rapidly changing politics in Alberta. Appreciate the west centric political content but Kathleen, find a better way to interject! You constantly interrupt and cut people off mid-thought in an aggressive, arrogant manner that often lacks insight. I get the role of host but look to your CBC peers like Kapelos or Barton on how to...Read full review »

Just like most mainstream Alberta content, pretty much just another platform for right wing verbal diarrhea. Don’t expect any diversity of thoughts or people.

Since the CBC made the ill fated decision to cancel the 180, Western Canada was once again ignored by the Toronto-centric mother Corp. This pod cast offers a much needed glimpse... too bad they can’t find a slot amongst the banality of the current radio one schedule for this very important...Read full review »

This podcast shines most weeks, until they seemingly run out of ideas and gather journos to congratulate one another. Sad. When you run out of ideas why not devote an episode to answering listener questions. The two stars is strictly for these selfish episodes. The rest of the content is great.

This podcast really grounds me & helps me understand politics in Alberta. Neither extremely right or left...this podcast is fair, & one more Albertans should listen to. In an increasingly polarized world, this podcast helps me understand what’s really going on in Alberta.

Love the non-partisan approach to Alberta politics and the critical analysis. I’ve been hungering for a new political podcast with Alberta at the center and I think I’ve found it!
Baravis via Apple Podcasts · Canada · 11/09/20
The conversations are pretty pat, milk toast, and seldom illuminating. Bratt brings no revelatory or data-backed insight to any conversation. As a proud Calgarian, it’s great to finally have a platform that speaks to Alberta and Western issues in a moderate and measured way, rather than speaking for one side of the usual polarized debate (i.e. hyper-conservative rural Albertans vs central Edmontonians who end up moving to Toronto)....Read full review »
