Brilliant, such a brave person!

I truely believe Josh is doing something special. The ABC has become so tiresome and tone deaf and the right wing stuff is often tribal, shallow or behind a paywall. There is no need to get cranky when Josh describes disagreeable ideas because alternatives are given voice and have to stand on...Read full review »

I’m new to this show and have to say I have gone back and listened to so many of the older episodes, what a joy of a find.

Host seemed to enter it with an open mind but hardly let the guest get a word in

Josh has been unable to throw off his wokeism.

Definitely a podcast for people with to much time on their hands who did live in the real world...

Josh is easy to listen too an experienced interviewer. I am not agree with all his views but I like being challenged and he does this well.

Just when I was lamenting that no one even pretends to be open-minded anymore, along comes Josh Szeps who actually is. So refreshing to be stimulated by genuine debate and sincere exploration of contrary viewpoints. Ditch the algorithm, exit the echo chamber and breath the fresh air.

In this landscape of social and political minefields with thousands of voices competing for attention, we need to find those few that hit a perfect balance of unbiased but hard hitting, fearless commentary on often uncomfortable topics. Josh is one of those voices. Highly recommended!!!

If you value honest conversations this one is for you. If you desire something that will enforce your predetermined opinions - perhaps you will enjoy something else more.

A masterfully subtle plug on Sam Harris’ podcast led me here. Glad I found this thanks for the great content team Josh

Love the podcast!!! but… please fix the sound quality! The Panel episode was particularly terrible.

I’m a huge Sam Harris fan and was totally uptodate with his Making Sense podcast and found this when looking for something equally engaging but closer to home (Australia) and I absolutely love his perspective and how he tackles an issue.

Usually Josh reins in his far left bias which makes for interesting conversations. But his bias and narrow minded views on colonialism during the Nigel Biggar interview was extremely disappointing and a real turn off. It seems you can take the boy out of the ABC but not the ABC bias out of the boy!

One of my favorite podcasts. In a sea of outrage media, UC is a welcome vessel to help navigate the thorny issues facing the world. Josh is highly intelligent and witty, and although he certainly has a healthy ego, it manifests in confidence not boorishness. He will deftly feign ignorance on a...Read full review »

I’m not a fan of this podcast-I think the host needs to take some history lessons.

I know this will fall on deaf ears because your Gaza episode betrays your bias. I found your attitude and arguments disgraceful and borderline racist. Enjoy your life on Sky News as just another performer and not a thinker.

Quite hard to listen to Josh as he keeps talking over guests.

I just discovered Josh’s podcast, and I love his concise, honest and deep thinking on the issues. Bravo!

Great insights and nuanced discussions in a free flowing stream of consciousness. Honest and authentic.

While I think Josh had a lot of really good, solid moments on this podcast, I think he simply can’t get away from the fact that he is in fact, a leftist. Every time he hosts a progressive on his show, he crumbles like a cookie, always failing to push back on the assertion that nothing is...Read full review »

There is quite a long list of Jews VERY against Israel’s actions and policies. How is it their take is so much heavier than yours? I’ll answer that for you - They understand the true history better than us and refuse to be involved in the systematic oppression and genocide. Say anything you like,...Read full review »

A very shallow and biased analysis of a very complicated situation. Unfortunate that the pod caster didn’t invest more time in researching the topic and cherry picked the articles he aligned with more.

…it’s obvious he takes his time to explore multiple sides of an issue.

All good thoughts… except for the damaging and demoralising conflation of the colonial/imperial projects of the west over the last 500 years. The Spanish conquest was nothing like Britain’s Victorian empire. The latter brought peace, medicine, education, law, trade, technology. If people stopped...Read full review »

Josh’s clear and precise thought process, fact checking and way to articulate is head and shoulders above. And sorely needed in today’s crazy, opinionated media sphere! But I have to say, the conversation with Dianne E. Anderson made me scratch my head and left me wondering “huh???”. Love your...Read full review »

When it is called Uncomfortable Conversations, you have hope that it will remain true to its namesake, and does Josh ever deliver. Second time listening, episode 173 (I think?) 15 min 40 sec in. Sounded off, so I fact checked it. Look for yourself, interviewer and guest are lying, or haven’t bothered to verify whatever social media post they got this from. Can only assume the rest of the show follows the same partisan...Read full review »

After listening to one episode of Josh I knew his podcast would be worth supporting and it hasn’t dissapointed. Josh is one of the smartest (and funniest) interviewers out there. Leans heterodox, but often pushes back on the inanity of the current culture war moment. Also, the accent is pretty great.

im watching as so many podcasts descend into an absolute fetishism of what they see as a "wokeness" problem. It is amusing to listen to podcasts elevate Twitter comments and pile-ons to representing the entire world. Or treating isolated instances of Lefty madness like they are...Read full review »

Decent enough podcast. Have listened to several episodes. Too obsessed with American culture war rubbish though. There’s a new kind of person who’s like “I’m not woke and I also see problems with the left” and think they deserve a frigging parade for not being rigid and hyper ideological. Are you aware of my views on trans? They’re not what you think! AMA?! Who cares!!!!

The thing trans people need to keep in mind is us “normies” make up 80% of the population. And the vast majority of us support the right for adults to marry any adult they wish. To own anything they want. Do any job they wish. Anything. But the violence with which you are trying to shove your...Read full review »
