“The show does it’s job, presenting a short news summary in a format not burdened with appearing non-biased in comparison with right-wing propaganda masquerading as news. That means the facts presented are mostly reliable, but not all of the facts are presented, especially those damning to Democrats left of Sen. Joe Manchin.
The delivery has suffered lately though; the collection of part-time hosts have neither the charm nor the comedic delivery of Gideon Resnik or Akilah Hughes, who made this show an audio-only near peer to popular late night news satire shows. Tre’vell is a cringe stereotype of a trans person who disservices their community by reinforcing its perceived over-representation and cliche attitude. They consistently offering nothing but the same stale “sassy” improvised takes, calling attention to themself and gender issues at the expense of sounding informed, intelligent, and witty when delivering on news topics which don’t concern the persecution of LGBT+ people.
Still, to this team’s credit, they have taken a political stance left of their company owners, the headliners of Pod Save America, on labor issues. There’s usually an update every week on which unions are preparing to organize and agitate, while PSA hosts still spew cringe over their daily Starbucks habit, utterly deaf to the efforts of the unions. The owners also largely took the Biden administration’s message and tone in the railroad workers’ strike intervention, lending to suspicions of the kind of journalistic malpractice for which they excoriate others, while the team at WAD repeatedly drew attention to the fact that no media outlet put any pressure on the railroad’s ownership.”
