Yikes.
EDITING TO ADD: I think this podcast needs to address its role in giving a now scandal-ridden priest a platform to speak to a largely young female population, while he is now being accused of having allegedly groomed this exact demographic. This was a large episode (2 parts) that was touted as being one of the most listened-to episodes of this podcast. I think some clarification is needed, not a sweeping under the rug of what has allegedly happened. You are no longer able to listen to the episodes. They have been deleted, for good reason. I believe that by having guests on your podcasts, you vouch for their character. He spoke on some very heavy and deep topics that more than likely formed the conscience in some way for the listener. The listener deserves to know that this guest has been accused of behavior “totally unbecoming of a priest,” as stated by the Archbishop. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Call in at your own risk. These women just spent a large portion of their most recent episode destroying “anonymous” for daring to have and voice a different opinion on a highly sensitive, highly personal, and highly nuanced topic. Unfortunately, a common theme throughout this podcast is an unwillingness to ever admit fault or any semblance of remorse for hurting a very marginalized group of women in the Church who struggle to have children and therefore struggle to feel as if they have a place in the Church. I have listened since the very beginning of this podcast, and today was a step too far.

I want to like this podcast, but I don’t...as a 20-something Catholic woman I am also seeking women with whom I cannot relate. These are not those women for me, they lack the maturity and life experience to be a voice for women of the Church. I feel particularly bothered by the way they talk...Read full review »
