Gave it so many chances
Really wanted to like this podcast. On a recent episode, Cece detailed all of the things she will be doing as a new mother. Anyone who’s been a parent knows that you’ll adjust a lot of things. You may even do things you said you’d NEVER do (like respond to your baby when they cry at night or share a sleeping surface with them). She seems very certain that she knows exactly what to do because “we believe it’s best this way.” I’d approach motherhood with less rigidity, but rigidity seems to be one of the hallmarks of this podcast. For what it’s worth, I’m a young-ish Catholic mom who leans more traditional and favors more natural/holistic living and loves the idea of homebirth and more… but the tone of WITDH is superficial, judgy, cliquey and rigid (as other reviewers have commented). They are probably well-intentioned but could stand to take a break from podcasting for awhile, focus on their own spheres of influence and grow in humility.
