“The most recent episode, featuring Jodie Patterson, was surprisingly good, mostly because Alec and Hilaria did very little speaking. It was nice to hear Jodie’s perspective and help guide the hosts as they navigate a tricky and nuanced topic. The episode itself was of value, considering how low the bar is. However, this podcast does not exist in a vacuum. Hilaria has repeatedly posted content to her Instagram stories about queer identities and struggles, highlighting the parts that spoke to her and aggressively alluded to her own fake Spanish heritage scandal. Things along the lines of the importance of accepting people and their experiences, even if they differ from yours or what you think peoples lives should be. This is wildly infuriating, the co opting of language and descriptions of experience that queer people have fought for is unacceptable. Queer stories are not here to prop up her delusions of being spicy white. She continues to show her delusions. I wish she would just go back to the fake accent, honestly, instead of contorting trans and queer stories to support her own “multi” fluidity.”
