The First Ascents of Everest - Mallory and Irvine
Welcome to When It Goes Wrong, the podcast about disasters, accidents and when things fall apart. On this episode we will be heading back to Mount Everest and covering some of the first attempts at climbing it. We will cover Mallory's attempts in 1921, 1922 and the fateful trip in 1924 and then subsequent attempts before it was successfully climbed in 1953 by Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay.

Crush Disasters - Hillsborough and other Human Crushes - Part 2
Welcome to When It Goes Wrong, the podcast about disasters, accidents and when things fall apart. On this episode we will be covering crush disasters - mainly Hillsborough where in 1989, 97 people were killed at a football game in Sheffield UK. We will then summarise some other crushes Astroworld where in 2021, 10 people were killed at a concert in Houston Texas and the Love Parade festival crush in Germany. This will be a 2 part series.

Challenger Space Shuttle Disaster

The challenger was a space shuttle launch in 1986 which sadly exploded 76 seconds into flight in front of millions of people, killing all members of crew onboard.

Best pod!
I absolutely adore this podcast!! I found it through the 1996 Everest episode, and haven’t stopped listening since! Jasmines voice is so soothing and perfect for story telling! Listen, listen, listen to this pod!
Room for improvement
I think this podcast has a lot of potential. She is a good storyteller and has read a lot on the topics, but her voice is very difficult to listen to. She speaks from the back of her throat and uses a lot of vocal fry. It’s hard to get past that for me. I end up focusing on her voice rather than the story.
