Greed and the human condition
Hamish is a psychopath, and his practices are similar to those revealed by the royal commission into Australian financial services. And interesting that one victim is surprised the police haven’t got the resources to pursue these criminals! Fascinating. It really could happen to anyone. That’s the strength of the program. These are just everyday people who’ve been easily exploited. And ultimately this type of crime undermines Australia’s economy because it erodes its basic currency; trust. This is what Hamish does and this is what the banks do. They destroy trust.
