“Used to be a fan while she was only doing improv, but Nicole has picked up a dangerous and triggering habit of getting her “history” off of cute pastel IG slides and Tweets.
I had to stop listening after a few very triggering and offensive casual Jew hatred that she dropped, esp as Jewish people are the biggest targets of hate crimes in the US on a per capita basis.
1) insinuating that all Jews are white (despite having multiple Jews of Color on her podcast. The woman she asked was not raised Jewish and is seemingly unaware of the violent acts and systemic oppression that stole this culture from her. This makes me think Nicole has been following some accounts that partake in soft Holocaust denial and Holocaust inversion. But boy did an entire branch of my family get wiped off the Earth for not being “white” enough, boy where other branches of my family not allowed to have certain jobs or go to certain businesses for not being “white” enough. Jewish kids in LA have literally been shot in the past year while someone screamed “Free Palestine!” at them from a BMW. This Twitter/IG misinfo activism is literally increasing hate crimes against people and I wish Nicole put more active care into learning about this complex topics and acknowledges even then that she is viewing them from a western lense
2) the comedian who came on to give her side of the I/P conflict, totally fine and that is her personal experience, but some of her claims were straight misinfo. Namely, ignoring the fact that Jewish people are indigenous to Israel. Jews are native to Judea and Arabs are native to Arabia. Jews predate Arabs in the region by 1000 years and Arabs violently oppressed the Jewish population that continuously lived there. There was also a complete omission of Hamas and what would happen if we give them the win as if the US is their next target bb. To be clear, I do not endorse the lives Palestinians are forced to lead and I pray that they get their own non-Hamas run state.
Anyway, worried that Nicole is a stones throw from being a neo-n*zi. If you’re Jewish, don’t listen to this podcast as it is very triggering and gaslights our own history via a colonizer Western lense on a complicated history and conflict that the host could apparently give two hoots about.”
