Decoding the Gurus
I can’t get past that he seems to be calling people gurus or rating them higher or the gurumeter, the more they don’t actually meet the definition of a guru. I.e they are actually rating them higher the less of an actual expert they are? Merriam-Webster defines Guru as follows: 1 : a personal religious teacher and spiritual guide in Hinduism 2a : a teacher and especially intellectual guide in matters of fundamental concern has been a guru to many young writers b : one who is an acknowledged leader or chief proponent became the guru of the movement c : a person with knowledge or expertise : EXPERT a computer guru Perhaps I am getting stuck on semantics but I think they should have a low guru score if they are hacks instead of real experts. Or perhaps their definition of guru is different to Merriam-Webster.
